Newsletter March 2012
Despite the wish to live as a hermit on the mountain! Duty calls and Swami Muktidharma will again be embarking on an international tour in May-June 2012 beginning in Canada before heading to Europe to spread the science and teachings of Satyananda Yoga®. He will present workshops and seminars in Spain, Italy, Germany and The Netherlands.
Swami Karma Karuna is manifesting staying on the mountain this year and will not be travelling Internationally, however, not as a hermit, but rather as a busy bee, making Anahata honey! She will also focus on teaching more within New Zealand, in order to support the budding New Zealand yoga community. There will be other Satyananda Yoga Swamis traveling to the USA this year, so contact us for more info. Whilst greatly missing the travelling and teaching to kidz, Atma Sundari is fully focused on school for the time being!
We have noticed that many of the requested topics for the International tour this year are related to Nada Yoga, Kirtan, Mantra (using sound vibration) reminding us that our inspirer Swami Satyananda predicted some years ago that Bhakti Yoga (the Yoga of Devotion) would be the Yoga of the 21st century. He said that in these times of intellectual dominance and global difficulties of the modern world, Mantra and Bhakti Yoga would capture the dissipated mind and open the heart. I once remember Swami Satyananda saying, “I am a surgeon and my operation is open-heart surgery.” It seems that in these times, we are all in need of Swami Satyananda’s surgery techniques!
Swami Muktidharma embodies this message of the heart from his guru and travels, spreading the teachings of Serve, Love and Give. Having imbibed, lived and taught Satyananda Yoga® for more than 40 years, he continues to share a depth of knowledge, taking many people from around the globe each year on a journey to the essence of what Yoga is all about. See his upcoming tour schedule here.
Special this year is the invitation for Swami Muktidharma to be a guest presenter at Swami Satyasangananda Saraswati's program in Madrid, Spain where she will be shining light on "The relationship between Gyana, Bhakti and Karma Yoga". More info here. Swami Satsangi as she is fondly called is a truly inspirational example of yoga and a gifted speaker and writer. If you are in Europe, this is a MUST GO!!
Swami Satsangi as she is fondly called, is the author of major texts on yoga and tantra. She eloquently articulates ancient teachings from yogic, tantric and vedic texts and brings these into a modern context transmitting a profound wisdom.
We look forward to connecting with you all be it here or abroad!
