Head, Heart & Hands by Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati

A recent publication from the Yoga Publications Trust, of Munger, Bihar is the Yogadrishti (Yogavision) series containing discourses from a special series of satsangs given by Swami Niranjanananda in Munger in 2010.

In this newsletter we feature one of the seven books from this series, which gives inspiring ideas on how to live a positive life from the heart.  ‘Head, Heart & Hands’ contains satsangs Swami Niranjanananda gave at Ganga Darshan in Munger in October 2010.  It is a very inspiring series of talks discussing the concept of combining the three faculties of head, heart and hands, and utilizing these to their fullest potential in our lives.  The outcome of this integrated development is that we create a more harmonious state of mind and emotions, and gain new perspectives on our daily actions.

You can purchase this book at a reduced special newsletter price of NZ$17.

“Ity” cards

Swami Sivananda's "18 ities" are practical tools which guide us in our pursuit to act from our higher selves, and live a life of peace and harmony. The ‘ities’ are serenity, regularity, absence of vanity, sincerity, simplicity, veracity, equanimity, fixity, non-irritability, adaptability, humility, tenacity, integrity, nobility, magnanimity, charity, generosity and purity.

Each ‘ity’ is nicely presented on a colourful laminated card.  A simple definition of the quality is given, as well as an inspiring phrase on how the ‘ity’ can be expressed in your own life.  They come in a handy pouch, which is useful if you choose to take the cards on your travels.  The cards can be used in different ways.  You may wish to make one ‘ity’ a focus over a day, a week, or a month, where you become more aware of how you can express and cultivate that quality in your daily activities and interactions. A good idea is to keep a reflection journal on what you have learnt each day in relation to the attitude you are practicing.  The ‘ities’ are especially useful to remember when you want to transform an unpleasant situation into something more positive, as they help you consciously choose the positive view.

As a special for this newsletter edition we offer this set of cards at NZ$18.
