New CDs Available from Swami Karma Karuna:
'Yoga for Women - Awaken the Shakti Within'
It has been a real team project to produce these new CDs with Anahata residents lending their voices for chanting and later for feedback fine-tuning the final product, graphics produced in-house with Anahata residents, and the audio recorded and produced nearby by our long-time friend Sika. Many long hours and lots of love have gone into producing an uplifting and nurturing CD, sharing practices specifically suited for women.
A chance to access the beautiful flow of Swami Karma Karuna’s classes wherever you are, this double CD includes practices specifically suited to the woman’s body, with an instruction booklet to support your understanding of the practices. It includes guided postures, breathing practices, Yoga Nidra and meditation, as well as the Chandra Namaskara (Salute to the Moon) series, accompanied by the chanting of the powerful but subtle Chandra Namaskara mantras.
Eco-plea: In the past our CDs have come in plastic cases. In an endeavour to “walk our talk”, we are choosing a more ecological packaging option. However, this comes at a considerable cost; in fact it is almost double the cost! We are asking for your help to make this CD an Eco-CD by placing your order now to help fund this option.
Orders placed before November 15th receive a special pre-sales discount price of $40 for the double-CD. Just in time to make lovely Christmas gifts!

CD by Swami Karma Karuna
Swami Karma Karuna has also recorded a second new CD, “Yoga for Health and Healing”, offering a gentle and nurturing yoga practice to replenish and relax the body. It is especially designed for people needing a very subtle and calm yoga practice. It includes a revitalising Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation practice), and meditation practice to bring healing to the body. It is still in the final editing phase and is due to be released early next year, but let us know if you would like to be notified as soon as it’s available.
Wrist Malas to support your practice
These are a very practical and decorative way to carry a mala with you wherever you go. By wearing mala beads on your wrist, you have them anytime you wish to centre yourself by repeating a mantra (such as Om, So Hum, Om Namah Shivaya or your own personal mantra). You can do this while walking somewhere, waiting for public transport, standing in the checkout line … practically anywhere.
We have a variety of wrist mala with beads of different properties, which come on a stretchy thread. You can purchase one for a price of $7 - $12
Crystal wrist mala ($12)
Crystal, one of the semi precious stones, is regarded as an excellent medium for prayers, healing, positive wishes and visualisations. It works to bring the body into balance and boost the immune system. It is believed to help dispel negative energy. It is also ideal to wear for keeping one cool because of its naturally cool properties.
Rudraksha wrist malas ($12)
These malas are very strong and durable. They are made from the seeds of the rudraksha evergreen tree. The word rudraksha translates to the eyes of shiva (eye of intuition). In Sanskrit Rudra is shiva and askha is eyes. This mala is said to bring the wearer inner peace, knowledge, power and enlightenment.
Crystal-Rudraksha wrist mala($12)
These wrist malas have a combination of crystal and rudraksha beads.
Sandalwood wrist mala ($9)
Sandalwood is one of the traditional materials used for mala. It is a fragrant and very smooth wood. Sandalwood is valued for its cooling and medicinal properties. It is believed to attract positive subtle vibrations and promote tranquility and a positive frame of mind.
We also have Black Sandalwood wrist malas ($7), and Red Sandalwood wrist malas ($7)
Anahata is now offering a mala repair service for fixing or re-knotting of your own mala, using traditional yogic knots. You will have the option to choose your own colours for the string and tassel. The cost is $17.50 per mala incl P&P. Contact Matrirupa at Anahata to discuss the available options or to discuss making a "custom made" mala with your choice of bead type and colour for string and tassel.
