Summer is here and the garden has awoken from its deep winter slumber and flourished through Spring. For the first time ever Anahata gardens produced an abundance of greens during the whole winter! Thanks to our awesome polytunnel we finally had a warm enough space to nurture growth.
Now that summer is radiating down upon us, the polytunnel is a full-fledged sauna….perfect for the likes of tomatoes, chillies, capsicums and eggplants ...mmmmm!
The last few weeks has seen many seeds and seedlings planted, an overgrown space turned into a pumpkin patch by a group of karma yogis, bean teepees constructed, piles of compost created, worms fed….and the list goes on.
Perhaps the most exciting news is the abundance of baby fruit growing on all our fruit trees - magical little things. There is something so breathtaking about watching life grow.
The warm weather is sure to continue keeping many hands busy and dirty!
Our karma yogis have also been hard at work beautifying and improving our signage. We now have new Anahata signs clearly marking your way up the road making it easier for you to come and visit us, as well as a great new sign at the entrance. The best part about these signs - they are upcycled; using pieces of wood and paint left over from previous projects. Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value - something we aspire to do as much as possible, to leave the smallest footprint as we can on our natural and beautiful environment.
