In November, we are very excited to be re-instating our Permaculture Design Certificate Course with an added yogic twist. Led by Robina McCurdy, Divyajyoti, Nityadrashta and a range of other professionals and guests, it will be taught in a hands on way in a beautiful and inspiring environment. Mark your calendars from now, visit our website for details and stay-tuned for more about this exciting new course!
“The mental and emotional pollution within us needs to be restored and harmonised just as the outer pollution does. Yoga practices can restore the inner ecology, and Permaculture practices can restore the outer ecology…bringing back harmony and balance internally and externally. The two are intricately connected.” ~Divyajyoti
After more than 10 years of Swami Karma Karuna envisioning a course such as this, we finally launched the beautiful ‘Yoga Nidra Instructors Training’, a new professional development course which we intend to offer regularly.
Led by the team of Swami Karma Karuna, Sannyasin Mangalananda and Sannyasin Pragyadhara, students had a one week intensive period of learning the history, theory and philosophy of Yoga Nidra and basic breathing methods. Techniques explored in depth included pratyahara (detaching the mind from the external senses), developing insight into the use of sankalpas and ‘opposites’, as well as related anatomy and physiology, and with opportunities to practice instructing with each other. The students are now in a two month period of online assignments and practice with case studies at home. Students came from various backgrounds, involved in fields from community work and nursing, to healing modalities with a wish to extend their skills to assist their clients on another level.
If you think you might be interested in the next Yoga Nidra training course in 2016 contact us for more information.
Also check out our online bookstore for the book ‘Yoga Nidra’, a perfect companion and introduction to the benefits of this practice.
Other Recent Events
We have just completed the ‘Power of Awareness’ Retreat with Swami Anandakumar, with participants receiving insight into meditation in action, inviting awareness to be present in each and every moment. Silent periods and extended meditation sessions created a deep and palpable vibe of quiet reflection. Keep an eye out for dates next year with Swami Anandakumar!
In May, we also had the ‘Evolving Woman’s Retreat’, with a sacred space held to find our power as a maiden, mother or wise woman… or even all three. It was a real treasure to be able to share in a Shakti/ feminine space all of our deepest truths and fears.
Then came the three week ‘Yoga Wisdom Series’, where participants delved into the theories of Purification, Mindfulness and Chakras, and took part in some joyful nasal cleanses and yantra meditations. Sound interesting? If you're looking for another chance to explore any of these topics, The Yoga Wisdom series will be held again in October of this year.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
